My wife spends two weeks at the beach with her family every summer and this summer was no exception. I usually try to go down for a lot of the time too, but this summer I was too busy working like a dog and trying to hang out with my brother who I haven't seen for almost three years and won't see for at least another one.
While my wife was at the beach I went and picked up our son for the night, so he could hang with my family a little. I brought him back the next day and was planning on spending the night with him and my wife at the beach house before returning home.
When I got to the beach, my wife was not with her parents on the beach, but down the beach a half mile watching the surfers, so I put Calvin on my shoulders and headed out to meet her. When half-way to our destination I get attacked from aerial bombardment, or what I would call a saturation bombing. Calvin decided to pee on me. I felt a warm, wet sensation running down my neck and back and it took a second to realize I had been hit. Then, a second later Calvin says, "Oh pee pee daddy pee pee!" to which I responded, "Thanks I know."
I actually contemplated hanging out for a while anyway and letting it dry, because pee is sterile right? That was a little too gross for me, which is saying a lot, so I left - pissed off.

The Fight to Be Fat
When I came home for the summer all I heard was, "WOW you got fat." If you were one of the people pointing out my weight don't feel bad, because you weren't the only one. Not only did people at home point it out, but when I saw people in Turkey the first thing they said was, "WOW you put on weight."
I am confused about two things, why are people so concerned about my weight. It seems like a major issue with some people and I honestly don't know why. I probably gained ten pounds in Turkey and another 10 pounds over the summer. So it is not like I gained weight to the point of it being shocking, so why do people seem overly concerned about my weight. Besides, isn't that the natural order of life, you get old and fat, so why can't I enjoy that part of my life? The other thing I am confused about why saying, "WOW you got fat" is not considered rude. That is a comment a little kid makes that doesn't know better. What would happen if I saw a girl and said, "WOW you got fat" I would be hunted down and punished by society and I would end up being on some day time talk show where the crowd would boo me when I came out to defend why I think it is okay to call people fat.
I guess the point is, if I am fat, I like being that way, so thanks for the concern about my weight, but I don't need to hear comments of how fat I am. I am planning on working out a little and eating better, but for the health benefits not the weight loss, but if that translates into weight loss I hope it will help all my concerned fans rest better at night.
It is nice to be back at home and working and into a routine.
